He was to be released on April 21, when he was recognized as a bombing suspect. He was later supercharged with the bombing. Terry Nichols was in the Army with McVeigh. When Nichols discovered that he was cherished for questioning in the bombing, he voluntarily surrendered himself to the police in Herrington, Kansas. He was later charged in the bombing. The bomb was do from a potent mixture of fertilizer and a fuel oil. It was packed in the back of a Ryder rental truck. The cop from the explosion was so powerful that it flew off the front spot of the nine-story federal building. It collapsed the floors and buried victims under masses of concrete, steel, and glass.
