Riordan Manufacturing Inc. is a fortune 1000 enterprise and is owned by Riordan Industries. Riordan manufacturers global plastics and operates four set ups. Each plant specializes in usance plastics; the Albany, Georgia plant produces plastics for beverage containers and the Pontiac, Michigan plant produces customs duty plastics. A third plant is located in Hangzhou, china and specializes in plastic fan parts and assembly. The remaining plant is the home smudge located in San Jose, California. The home office specializes in research and development.
Riordan is looking to improve and upgrade their melodic line systems in all departments to help increase trouble and employee merriment and to increase productivity. The departments that have had the approximately concentration and need the most updates are Operations, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing and finally the finance and Accounting department. Operations Department
The Operations department oversees the procedures and departments of inventory, product assembly, shipping and associated departments, including the tack chain, within the Riordan Manufacturing Corporation.
All four plants have basic procedures in place; however, the operations for each plant are incompatible and therefore, work independent of each other.
The Operations department does non have an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) with businesslike integrated software to assist them with tracking inventory, shipping, receiving, purchasing and transitioning from wholeness department to another department. The corporation is currently using surpass spreadsheets for inventory data entry and relies heavily on manual of arms input of data and paper forms of communication and inventory tracking.
