Examples include women becoming concubines and not having the power to divorce with the male. Also, the master could love another cleaning lady but women couldnt love another man. At the akin time, the mistresses were kept at the mansion and were not allowed to go anywhere. And most of the time, they were also be kept under surveillance by their maids and their activities will be reported to the Master.
