Introduction
This seek looks to evaluate the Internets use as a growing tool to influence modern society, and evaluate what billet the Internet play in facilitating democracy in the 21st century. Pluralism is a pillar of democracy, and as such traditional transfer and press media will be compared with the Internet to see whether pluralism is furthered or hindered online; whilst defining and evaluating e-democracy, looking back from its public roots to its privatisation to demonstrate what platform it provides for the concerned citizen.
Censorship could affect the use of the Internet as a democratic tool thus a Chapter will be dedicated to discussing censorship and its effects.

An interesting analysis into the relationship between the media and its earshot is offered by the pluralist model of media. A basic symmetry is seen to embody between media institutions and their audience. (Curran, J. 2002. 108).
