In Chapter 5 Orwell describes all the animals as silent and fright when they are waiting for Napoleon to enter the barn. These adjectives suggest that Napoleon terrifies the animals and that he uses this fear to control them.
In Chapter 1 anile Major says All men are enemies Orwell uses the noun enemies to show everyone whats really happening, because Old Major is a wise and trust figure in the farm, all the animals sit down to pick up and acknowledge what he has to say. Napoleon uses this speech to his advantage.
